Growing up in a physical, emotional and psychological environment that is both healthy and loving has a tremendous impact on our relationship to ourselves and the world. Studies1 show that attitudes favoring this healthy environment (softness, tenderness, soft words, etc.) are associated with the secretion of oxytocin, a hormone that generates confidence and generosity2; its presence reduces stress reactivity,3 solidifies social ties4 and increases the sense of empathy.5 At every stage of life, every being needs love, like the plant needs light.
